We thought it was about time to introduce another new member of the Melin team. We’ve already told you about our new Technical Consultant, Joanne Davies, and now we can add Steffan Davies (no relation) to the ever-growing Melin family.
Here’s a bit more information about him…
What’s your role at Melin?
I have recently joined the team as a junior technical consultant, providing support with the BREEAM assessments and advising our clients on how to improve environmental performance.
What’s your background?
I graduated with a 2:1 BSc in Environmental Science at the University of West England, followed by a 2:1 MSc in Sustainable Energy at Cardiff University. Prior to joining the team at Melin, I also spent over a year as a business consultant for a major water company based in Bath.
Which part of your job do you love?
As a technical consultant, the most rewarding part of my job has to be interacting with the client on a daily basis and helping them reach their BREEAM target through project-specific advice. The amount of exposure at such an early stage of my Melin career is another aspect of my job that I am really enjoying.
What do you do outside of work?
Outside of work, I like to stay busy and active. This usually includes hobbies such as keeping fit, enjoying a social or travelling long hours to support the Scarlets both home and away.
Tell us one ‘green’ thing that you do.
I’m very keen on recycling and, whenever possible, try to encourage friends and family to do the same. It’s also worth adding that I can’t stand littering!
We take away the frustration of building regs, but what’s the one thing that frustrates you?
Losing my car keys. Without a doubt.
Tell us something surprising about yourself?
I represented the West Wales cricket team at youth level and also won the under-18s Welsh schools' rugby final.
